TERMLY PERFORMER TRAINING
10 WEEK PROGRAMMES DELIVERING PROFESSIONAL ACTOR TRAINING TO YOUNG PEOPLE IN EXETER
When TYP aren't working on project specific productions, the company meet once a week to explore different theatrical practices designed to enhance and develop the acting skills of the participants. These skills range from professional vocal practice, to physical presence and posture, to group improvisation. Our aim is to create a space for our young people to feel safe and supported so that they can feel uninhibited in their creative explorations.
The course is open to any young person aged 11-18 with an interest in drama or performance, no matter their previous experience - anyone is welcome! Our young people often refer to TYP as a family and as a company we encourage this mentality through peer-led development and an open collaborative process between the staff and the actors.
1-2-1 acting sessions can also be booked with our Artistic Director, Lucy Hirst, or with Executive Director, Katherine Stevens.
For more information please contact Lucy on firstname.lastname@example.org.
“I’ve made great new friends and it’s inspired me to pursue acting, directing or teaching as a possible career even though I only started because I enjoyed my school play.” - TYP Participant (13)
In our most recent programme, a group of 26 tackled Shakespeare head on and produced a majestic promenade production 'Swagger' inspired by Rylance's 'Shakespeare at Westminster' at the Devon and Exeter Institute.
10 week terms cost £70.00 per participant.
